While cruising around the Museum 2.0 website, I found this post especially interesting... the discussion regarding what is a "quality" museum experience resonated with my thinking about how to include technology into the museum. How can we find a balance between fostering a "quality" museum experience and creating a space where diverse groups of people can get the most out of their museum experience? Can this balance be found through the use of technology? What needs to be done?

absolutely one of my favorite museum 2.0 posts. your ideal museum experience is not my ideal experience, so quit trying to force all of us square pegs into your round hole!
ReplyDeletethere is a sense from some people that there is a right kind of audience and approach to museums, and this elitist attitude will be the downfall of large encyclopedic institutions if they don't take a look around and realize that their audiences are changing. cultural institutions are gems for everyone, but the reason that some part of the population doesn't think they're 'for them' is this gated attitude. love nina and her response.
